Yuba Mundo Utility Bicycle

yuba_mundo.gif Taking another tact on the utility bike is the Yuba Mundo. I hadn’t seen it before and was tipped by Ben Sarrazin who, according to his bio on Yuba’s site, worked for several years with Xtracycle. Props to the straightforward design, and for building a bike to, “to carry things, to ride anywhere.”

Golllllee I want one of those! At “$350-$500” each, that seems like a steal, too.

I wonder if they’ll send one to a grad student to test and review around the city — and to keep:)

I’m down with the minimalism, but it wasn’t clear to me where you’d buy it and I didn’t see “production” photos.

Ben from Xtracycle said that these are going to be available in the fall of ‘07. You can order these from Xtracycle. Seems kind of weird, like it is direct competition with their Xtracycle components.

I like the part about the bike being one-size-fits-all. My wife and I are 9 inches different in height. We’d both be able to use this to cut down on our car use.

Freddiemac,

Thanks for the info — one of the biggest issue with Bettie is standover height. I wrote about that in my round-up posts on SUBs
