Austin Yellow Bike Project has confirmed they’re coming to the BBQ with 4 bikes, a wall of tools (to adjust bikes), and a whole lot of Austin bike community goodness. Anyone can ride the Yellow Bikes, just show up and ride one. Then, ride it back for the next person to ride.

Ask Bike Hugger

I was stoked to hear that bikehugger was coming to SXSW.
However, my stoke was quickly cooled when the daily newspaper here in Austin reported that the bikehugger Beer’n’que event was only “open to holders of gold and platinum SXSW Interactive Festival badges”
What gives? only big-wig industry types get in, but those of us who actually “live it” (and can’t afford the $300+ for a badge) don’t?
I don’t know too many folks in the Austin bike business with that kind of expense account, or any for that matter.
Grump,
Thanks for the comment and we’ll update our BBQ page with more details later today. All that join us for urban ride can attend the BBQ via the Bike Hugger guest list. We’re trying to keep this simple, but will probably add a quick register function here to make sure riders are on the guest list.
Specifically, ride with us and get into the BBQ for free.
And here’s the update on the ride. Join the ride on Upcoming and that’ll get you on the guest list for the BBQ.
