Bikeosphere roundup of the Seattle Bike Expo

Mar 10, 2008  ·  11:52 AM  ·  permalink

desalvo_mini.jpg Welp, the Seattle International Bike Expo has come and gone and while I wasn’t able to attend we have the good fortune of living in the age of self publishing. From around the Bikeosphere: Kent’s photos and writing on the Expo. Eug’s (from wildheart cycling) got a few more photos including the Desalvo mini-penny-farthing, and Dessa got his feet evaluated on the Computrainer. The new backpack from Ergon sounds promising. I’m a messenger bag guy myself, but a backpack is always appealing. Reccomendations from Kent and Bikecommuters.com make it seem pretty sound, next year maybe I’ll get a chance to check out the new hotness myself.

Update: Many more Photos from A. Mussleman on Flickr. Nice Set!

I went and enjoyed it as usual. I have yet to hear why they moved it to Sodo. Maybe just for a change of pace? The exhibit hall was nicer and had more bathrooms than the hangers at Sand Point, but the expo was broken up into 6 or 7 smaller rooms, so you didn’t get that awesome immense vibe. Only a dozen or so test bikes this year, which was a bummer, but I did fall in love with the civia commuter. That thing is GORGEOUS and built like a tank (a light tank).
