There’s near universal distaste for NBC’s delayed coverage. Not only did they run the opening a day later, they ran it again the next day instead of live coverage. It’s offensive for them to package it all for advertising dollars than focus on the games. In contrast, CBC is running live coverage minus the teary backstories. I think the Games shouldn’t be like the Superbowl and they should give some of it to PBS.

The NYT article notes how NBC spent the day whack-a-mole’ing websites streaming coverage from abroad. NBC mustn’t realized that I can “google” Men’s Road race, read about it online 12 hours before the cover it.

Another update about the ghost course with no spectators. There were fans in the city, but none on that finishing circuit. You wouldn’t have known that from the TV coverage, but if you watch the replay you can see no fans are there.
