Off the beaten path at Interbike - Part 3

wheeltags

I had actually seen Wheeltags online prior to the show, and wasn’t all that interested because the stock patterns they offer don’t really fit my style. When I saw the booth, I got a look at a number of their custom offerings - and some were quite impressive. I had just seen the Velocity ELVS reflective rims so I asked if Wheeltags had something similar. I actually like their options better - they can do various depths, with or without logos. I think a Bikehugger branded reflective wheelset is in my future for my new disc commuter wheels!

(Note - this rim appears black under normal light - with my flash or car headlights - it glows bright white)

These are pretty freakin’ cool. Thanks for posting Andrew.

At first read, they seem sort of like the equivalent of those plastic spinner hub caps, but being so sneakily reflective is pretty cool. I may have to work these into my next commuter bike project.

I think the “stealth reflective” is the key here. I have another interbike find coming on this front.

For folks who run rims without a braking surface (discs brakes or fixed gear) it’s an easy way to really increase your visibility. I think it would be most attention grabbing in the staggered pattern (they call it a “throwie”).

The 16mm depth would work fine on most rims - especially Velocity DeepVs and Fusions.

You need to see Mark’s pornado! He gathered real girls in your room smut into his wheels and spun it in a spectral display.

sir byron,

do you know if the elvs will be available on the 559 deep v’s?

is your idea to break up the elvs with these decals or they actually make this material in elvs?
