Carbon Rack

I can't say I know a thing about Ruckus Components, but they sure have some cool stuff on their flickr photostream. This rack looks great and would certainly dress up any stealth cafe-bike. Maybe I need to add that to the wife's rig? From the website it seems they are still sorting out how they sell all this stuff, but cool stuff abounds. Carbon fenders, Carbon Cog Guard, Carbon 15mm wrench - yes!

3lbs for a carbon and aluminum rack? That is what it says on their news page. A steel porteur/flatbed style rack is usually well under 2lbs. Why does this one weigh so much more?

The carbon slats do dress it up nicely.

The rack pictured was a first generation prototype, the latest generation uses stainless steel tubing and a different plank set up, the final weight should be around 2.25 lbs for the new build, a few details have to be worked out yet.

The new Ruckus Rack will be able to hold a lot of weight, way more than you would ever want to carry. There will also be a custom image/text engraving option available for each rack as well!

Get us a set of carbon fenders this Fall and we’ll test them on a Cronos.
