Huggacast Episode Five: DWR Biomega AMS

Design Within Reach sent us their Biomega AMS 8-Speed Bicycle a couple weeks ago and we’ve been admiring, questioning, and discussing it ever since. The bike features a shaft drive, Nexus hub, powdercoat finish, is built to just get around town, and is featured in this week’s Huggacast.

Notes

• The “clanky” we later resolved by not pedaling when shifting. It was a windy day, sorry about the noise. The audio sample is Bebel Gilberto - Un Segundo.

• See my post on our main blog for more details and a balanced review. Straight up, we do like this bike, with some caveats and a couple need to knows. There’s definitely nothing else like it and building a bike around a shaft drive is unique.
