Huggacast Episode Five: DWR Biomega AMS

Design Within Reach sent us their Biomega AMS 8-Speed Bicycle a couple weeks ago and we’ve been admiring, questioning, and discussing it ever since. The bike features a shaft drive, Nexus hub, powdercoat finish, is built to just get around town, and is featured in this week’s Huggacast.

The “clanky” we later resolved by not pedaling when shifting. It was a windy day, sorry about the noise. The audio sample is Bebel Gilberto - Un Segundo.
See my post on our main blog for more details and a balanced review. Straight up, we do like this bike, with some caveats and a couple need to knows. There’s definitely nothing else like it and building a bike around a shaft drive is unique.
