While David and I were hanging out with Specialized in Morgan Hill last year, his USB hub failed and he asked to use one of mine. I grabbed my Crumpler and pulled out a hub and also had at my diposable most anything else a traveling bike blogger would need. If NORAD goes down or the cable in the room or anything else, I’m ready for that too.

The huggas are making the rounds at Interbike. Check out this video to get a sneak preview of Crumpler’s hydration pack available Jan of 2009.

On the Hugga list of places to ride and visit is Minneapolis and One on One Bicycle Studio. This weekend at One one One the Imaginary Bags Silent Auction concludes with a closing party. Imaginary Bags is is a fundraiser that features Crumpler bags designed by artists and designers from the Minnesota bike community.

As our readers know, we’ve designed our own Hugga bag with Crumpler and remarkably share similar tastes and palettes.

The first day was a mixed success--our winners seemed genuinely excited, but Twitter made the process very difficult by inexplicably swallowing any messages that contained an @ symbol. Our first batch of winners came out like this:

Late last year, right before our trip to Maui, I tried out Timbuk2s Build Your Own Bag site. Ordering up his and hers bags in the Hugga Comfort colors. The bag builder offered very nice interactivity, with lots of custom features, previews, and more.

I was initially bummed to see that 992 other bag builders created the bag I did, but then kept trying and got this message: “this color combination has been created just once.” An original bag … cool. While the Bag Builder works well, I’d like to see it have persistence. It doesn’t remember you, if you leave and come back. I’d also like to edit what I created or duplicate it and for it to send me what I made and let me download it.
