All-New Trek Domane+ SLR
An all-new Trek Domane+ SLR launched today. When I rode the original version, the only complaint I had was the power cut off at 22 MPH. The Domane+ SLR assists up to 28 MPH and weighs about 26 LBS.
Whether you’re into e-bikes or not, that’s a remarkable bit of engineering from Trek. The motor is whisper quiet, the controls are refined, and it rides like a fast road bike with a boost. The TQ harmonic pin ring e-system is what drives it. The close-to-standard Q factor contributes to the road feel. The 360 watt/hour battery will take you 60 miles. The range is extendable with a optional water-bottle battery pack. The boost itself is 300 watts.
It as if Trek thought of everything, the tire clearance is up to 40mm for gravel. The rear IsoSpeed will soak up the bumps. It ships with fender mounts. The geometry is what Trek calls endurance: a tall head tube and longer wheelbase.
