While in Park City last week to ride as much of the 300 miles of single track they have there as possible, we stumbled into a BMC Test Center. What’s that? We asked the same thing! Now that the Tour of Utah is happening, with BMC in the lead, the story is well-timed. So what’s going on is the pro shop at Montage Hotel and Resort, near the top of Empire Pass, switches to bikes during the “other” season. A few years ago, BMC staffers visited the Montage and were so impressed by the location and amenities, they started talking and a partnership was formed. Sure that’s some good marketing because the Tour rolls right by the resort for two stages: up and down Empire Pass. The Altar shot I took was just a few pedal strokes from where the roadies are racing.

The Montage offers tours for cyclists and the shop is called Compass. You can find it between the pub and bowling alley at the Montage. It’s the cleanest bike shop I’ve ever seen, precise like the Swiss bikes. Here’s video I took of it with Glass
If interested in the Test Center ask Andy about a guided tour, including one with Marcel Vifian, an ex-pro racer and current professional coach. They offer mountain and road packages. I finished a good day of riding in the spa and suggest you do too.
