A couple years ago I bought some Cinelli Jelly Ribbon just to see what it was like, but when I pulled it out of the package the Jelly Ribbon’s clear plasticky texture foretold of an uncomfortable lack of padding. Then when I was putting together my Davidson MkV, I had the bright idea of combining Jelly Ribbon with Fizik Bar Gel padding. Since both products are transparent, I can see the carbon weave of my Pro Vibe handlebar while still having adequate padding. You might be tempted to compare it to old-style Benotto wrap, but Jelly Ribbon is much superior for grip. Time will tell how it weathers the sun and elements, though.
