While editing and assembling Issue 30, about the Cold, listened to Gary Numan live. The disco, dystopian beats reminded me of how it feels out there in the cold, alone, putting the time in. As Patrick Brady shared in the free cover story, it isn’t the breezy pleasure of a summer day. It isn’t carefree. It isn’t a triumph of the will. It’s tapping out a tempo and the base miles are like pennies in a piggy bank. They aren’t sexy, but they do add up.
