The weather is so nice in Seattle this week, like 72 degrees with a light breeze, that I almost forgot it RAINED for 8 months. During those months, when I wasn’t moping around the house cause it was so gray out, or traveling, I rode in Gore’s Oxygen Classics Windstopper kit with the built-in liner and 1/2 sleeves. As goofy as I felt, sorta triathlete’ish with the sleeves, it totally worked and removed another layer from what I normally wear. The built in liner and Windstopper material meant no vest was needed.
Well, the sun is out and Gore sent me another version of the Oxygen Classiscs kit, without the Windstopper, and instead the judicious use of mesh paneling and lighter weight fabrics for the warmer days.
The slim fit and road-specific tailoring compliment my post racing body, while the jersey’s flat cuffs and collar fit comfortably, with three normal-sized rear jersey pockets to carry all of the usual items, like a phone, and snacks.
The bibshorts have a 12in/30cm inseam, and an integrated media pocket within the back of the super comfortable mesh bib structure, and include the high-end road seat pad that’s caused me no issues.
As I’ve said whenever reviewing Gore’s products, they’ve really responded to rider feedback, and are making some of the best kit these days.
