The Gore Wear Cancellara Collection is what’s new for spring. I have the kit and will wear it as soon as the temperatures get above 60 degrees in Seattle. The limited-edition collection was made in collaboration with the legendary racer for those riders with the highest standards in apparel.
Just like the stretchy version of the GORE jacket, Cancellara played a key role in the design and development process of both the race-specific “C7” kit as well as the “C5.” Both kits are for high-performance road cyclists and priced accordingly. They GORE’s most advanced technologies like the fit and Shakedry Stretch. I don’t race anymore, but when feeling in shape, enjoy a hard ride just as much.
The design is all Fabian. 7 is his magic number. Throughout his storied career, Cancellara won 7 Spring Classics victories. And, the prologue of the Tour de France on 7.7. 2007.
That’s why a heptagon functions as the central design element of the collection. Predominantly used as a discreet print element, it also features in small details like the jersey zippers. The orbit blue color was Cancellara’s personal choice as well and is repeated across the entire collection.
Fabs loves blue. Who knew?
Prior to this release, I noticed how I’m primarily wearing Gore through all four seasons. Now, I have even more gear to mix and match. Find the GORE Wear Cancellara Collection online. Expect shipping delays and note that Gore’s sizing runs true. I wear an XL jersey and L short.
