The product manager will regret those white tires on the Harley-Davidson Serial 1. Everything else, I like. A lot. It’s an ebike that looks really fun and with a premium ride. The images and teaser video are from the PR released today.
I haven’t seen this bike in person, but here’s what Serial1 has to say about it.
Harley-Davidson is officially entering the eBicycle space with the launch of Serial 1 Cycle Company, a dedicated eBike brand that will debut its first line of products in spring 2021.
I expect to ride it when they send demos out in Spring of 2021—no details were provide at launch. The last new bike I rode was the Vado SL, a bike that delivers on Specialized design expertise.
Taking its name from “Serial Number One,” the nickname for Harley-Davidson’s first motorcycle, Serial 1 Cycle Company combines Harley-Davidson’s world-class product development capability and leadership in two-wheel electric propulsion with the agility and innovation of a start-up brand dedicated exclusively to the eBicycle product and customer.
Further:
…Born as a skunkworks deep inside Harley-Davidson’s Product Development Center, the eBicycle project began with a small group of passionate motorcycle and bicycle enthusiasts working with a single focus to design and develop an eBicycle worthy of the Harley-Davidson name.
