Also put the roll in a bottle cage for shorter rides
Well, I was just working out what to share today and this tweet from Wired’s Gadget Lab and Wired Bike blows up our Tool Roll. Here’s what Jakob from Wired had to say
I’ll admit it: I’m a sucker for boutique bike products. I like having small-run items, things that aren’t already splashed everywhere else. That, plus they’re usually well made with nice attention to detail. Case in point: Bike Hugger’s limited edition Waxed Canvas Hugga Tool Rolls. They’re all hand made in Seattle and built to hold a spare tire, CO2 canisters, as well as a couple bike tools. Bundled up the roll fits right into your jersey pocket. According to Bike Hugger, they designed the roll to help organize flat tire tools, and offer an alternative to the traditional seat bag, which can rub against (and ruin) your expensive bike shorts.
Awesome and straight up that project was a thing we originally made for just us. I didn’t know how many other cyclists would agree that carrying tools and spare tube in your pocket is better than your saddle. Well, lots of you do and thanks! We’re making more after using up all the waxed canvas we had. To Jakob’s observations about the canvas, we chose that fabric after several prototypes, so the roll was as thin as possible, but still durable.
