Japanese electronics parts maker Murata Electronics displays the company’s new unicycle robots called the “Murata-seiko-chan” (R) and bicycle robot “Murata-seisaku-kun” during a demonstration at Ceatec, Asia’s largest electronics trade show in Chiba, suburban Tokyo on October 6, 2009. Straight out of my Blade Runner fantasies, Murata Electronics in Japan has made robots that can ride bikes and unicycles. This is Murata-seiko-chan, who can actually ride that teeny unicycle thanks to a number of sensors embedded in the backpack there.

Now mind you that I can’t ride a Unicycle, despite trying to and I’m made out of flesh and blood, it blows my mind that there are robots already that can ride these.

Combine this with Avatar and in the future we’ll be controlling unicycle-riding robots with our minds!

Not sure why the woman giving the demonstration is wearing a fluorescent iguana on her neck though. Maybe that’s a style thing from the future.
