Off for a few days on a late summer vacation and Officine Mattio OM 1 launched a new road bike. It’s aggressive and modern. Also, a 100% Italian product made in Cuneo, a small city near the Italian Alps.
From the press release:
The bike features a custom-made Officine Mattio integrated handlebar, in carbon fibre. The geometry of the frame is decidedly aggressive, with very compact rear-stays.
The absence of the brake bridge, a classic connection between the chainstays, is a distinctive feature of Officine Mattio frames. A further element of aesthetic innovation from calipers to disc brakes.
Also notice how the lower chainstays are slightly arched at the dropouts. The oversized headset rests directly on the fork. Cables are fully integrated, regardless of the group-set chosen.
Read more about the Officine Mattio OM 1 on their website. From the photos they sent me, it’s lovely. And, good to read about a bike launch during a pandemic. It ships with Pirelli P Zero tyres and a Selle Italia saddle. Groupsets include Shimano Dura Ace Di2 and Ultegra group-sets or the SRAM Force AXS. The OM 1 ships in XS-S-M-L-XL. Buyers can also choose from custom colors and graphics.
The OM 1 is sold through dealers in the US with pricing starting at $8K.
