Logan’s Bike
Redline’s Logan Owen won the Pro/1/2 division of the 2012 Starcrossed Cyclocross event at the Group Health Velodrome, Redmond WA. Logan’s stable at the race consisted of identically prepared Redline 2012 Conquest Team framesets 56cm) with FSA cranksets (172.5mm) & cantilever brakes, Shimano Ultegra drivetrains, and Challenge tires. Despite the dry conditions, Logan chose to run standard Challenge Grifo tires rather than the file-tread Grifo XS at the suggestion of Redline team boss and NW godfather of cyclocross, Tim Rutledge. As Logan confirmed during the pre-ride, the dry conditions over the past month had led to loose surfaces in the corners and off-camber grass sections.
In the near future Logan will switch to the 2013 Conquest Team frames, which will have some minor refinements over the previous including a press fit BB30 (PF30) bottom bracket. Tim told me that Logan’s bikes will be equipped with Shimano’s Di2 shifting system as well.
Logan Owen’s early season performance at Starcrossed promises much for the future of this young, rising star.
