I was riding with The Crunge playing on headphones and stopped at an intersection near the Viaduct construction when I heard a pile driver synced to the beat, on the 4s.
It was like a Zeppelin remix of their funk experiment with an industrial-concussive kick drum. At first I thought it was part of the song I’d never heard before. Then it got louder as I rode by. The time signature changed too, like the song, when the boom from the pile driver echoed against the buildings.
Whap! whap! whap! “Where’s the bridge?”
Sometimes on a ride, it’s about the sights and sounds, and the smells of a city. The bike takes me to so many interesting places and a reason I keep riding it.
