Into the tunnel
Funny story from Taiwan, I say Hodala to our Taiwanese hosts yesterday and they say, “you know that?!! You know what that means?!!” And I say sure, to the bottom with the beer!

They laughed and laughed. We were riding a rails-to-trails, bike path through a tunnel and everyone was out on their bikes. Cycling is the national pastime here.

Then, a kid rode by pointed to me and said, “Gaijin!” and they laughed even harder. That was a light moment on this trip; especially while back in the States, the sport I’ve spent most of my adult life participating in is being torn apart. Again.
